All Rodents are allergic to Peppermint Oil. Put a little oil on a Cotton Ball and throw it in the corners of the Room(s) where you have seen the mouse. I had one in the wall behind my sink, so I put the oil on the Cotton, turned my hot hair dryer on it, and it left!

Throw the cotton ball down a Gopher Hole, etc.

Very good idea! We have never had a mouse in the house since we have lived here , but it's destined to happen - they say that all houses will have at least one, unless the area is not indigenous and conducive to mice (which are very few). I know that if we did, I definitely wouldn't want to replace the drywall after poisoning or trapping it (killing it), and warding it off with your remedy is definitely a plus!
