I'm moving into a new house and the previous owners placed those skid proofing decals in the bathtub. I've allready got a suggestion of using a hair dryer to heat it up and then peel it off. I don't want to damage the tub. Thanks.
How do you remove those decals people put in bathtubs?
heat with hair dryer and prying them off with a plastic spatula. sometimes, if u leave a little of petroleum jelly on to soak through, it will help loosen them enough to remove. make sure u wash the petroleum jelly off thoroughly to prevent slipping and sliding. also u can try, linseed oil or acetone or lighter fluid and or waterless hand cleaner. good luck!

Soak it in Vodka, it will disolve the glue.

Heat gun will loosen them.. not sure about hair dryer (doubtful) then something strong like oven cleaner sprayed on the remaining adhesive or maybe even Castrol Super CLean to soak and get that off

Use decal remover. They make it just for that.

What is the composition of the tub? The one piece surround tubs have a special finish so you can't use anything abrasive. Look on the manufacturer's website for suggestions.
There is a liquid called Goo Gone. It has an oily base and can be used on most surfaces without harming the finish. Just rinse and dry the tub well so no one slips from the oily residue.

Buy adhesive remover spray, it will take all stickers and decals off anything safely and quick.

If your tub is porcelain you can use a safety razor blade to scrap them off, I do not suggest this if your tub is fiberglass. The hairdryer should not damage either tub. You could heat them up and peel them off then use a remover such as alcohol for the sticky residue. There are several "get the sticky off" products on the market, one trip to Walmart or the like, can yield many possibilities. Good luck!!

heating them should work, it wont damage the tub either.
if that doesnt work, try using acetone to dissolve the glue. test the acetone on a spot on the tub first, but it should be fine.
I'd try the hair dryer though.

Goo Gone is magical stuff. A little goes a long way. I've had a 2 oz. sample bottle for a couple years and still have plenty left.
Just put a couple drops on the sticky stuff and let it sit for a few minutes. The residue should just wipe up with a paper towel.
If the sticky things are difficult to peel up, put some Goo Gone around the edges. It should seep underneath and loosen the adhesive enough for you to pull the sticker off. Treat the remaining adhesive as mentioned above.
