Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

i dropped my cell phone in the pool and it was probably in the water for 30 seconds at the most but i opened it up and shook it and there wasnt much water that came out (just a few drops) so i took it apart and dryed it out in the sun then took it home 2 hours later and took it apart as much as i could. the thing is the dots that change red on the phone and pink on the battery when you drop it in water werent as dark as they can get. i used a hair dryer to dry it out then put it back together and it kinda started up and the lights turned on a little bit then kinda died. but the battery was dead before i dropped it so possibly it the battery that needs charged?

ok, well I know you're problem because I dropped my cell too exept I left it in my pocket in the washer machine and it di the same thing as yours and you know whats cool it works and it actually got water in it(alot) but, what I did is I went to the agency that I got my phone at (verizon, etc) and they told me what to do so do what I did and you'll come out better. :)

Fully charge your phone. If it still doesn't work, then you may have to get customer support to see what you can do.

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

good luck with that

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

sounds like you did all the right stuff. I did the same thing and my phone is fine now. Try charging it

I would say try charging it first, and see if it works then. If not, you may need to get a new cell phone, as I know they will not replace it "for free" when there's water damage.

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

Well, charge it up, then you'll know.

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

well maybe you should have tried that before you came one here to ask us a question that can easily be answered in like 2 seconds....

and THEN if that doesn't work come back and ask another question.

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

Unfortnately no. Your phone has water damage. Even if it was just sprayed with water for a few seconds. If your phone has insurance, youre in luck. If not, you may have to get another phone. Either way, go to your carrier.

The battery may have lost its ability to hold a charge. Try charging it fully overnight but be prepared to get a new one tomorrow.

I washed my phone and it took about 3 days to get it to begin functioning again. The battery took the biggest hit. It will only hold a charge for about 8-10 hours, where before I washed it it lasted 3 days or so.

You might just need to let it sit for a few more days to be sure that it doesn't work, then perhaps try someone elses battery before you put $50.00 into another one.

If it's not the battery, then you won't have wasted the money you could use to buy a new phone if that is the outcome.

Good luck! Cell phones...can't live with 'em..can't go without 'em....

if you are sure that you completely dried it out (did you try rubbing alcohol and a q-tip?) and still no dice--try a new battery--if it was low on juice to begin with then it could be the problem.

Dropped my cell phone in the pool?

there might be hope yet. Just make sure it is absolutely, positiviley dry before you try to use it again....Good Luck.....I forgot to take mine out of my shorts pocket before I washed it. I had to replace....... :(

Believe it or not water damage can happen simply through sweat or humidity in the air. It doesnt take a lot of water to damage the phone or change the lil dots different colors. I would definately try to charge the battery. However, more than likely the chlorine and the water killed it. Although my dad had an old nokia phone he dropped in the lake it sunk to the bottom he took it out let it sun dry and it worked for another year... That hardly ever happens though. Hopefully you have insurance on the phone!
