I would just let it dry naturally, most likly it won't do anything to the tail unless it was soaked for a long time in water in that case the whole deck would be wet because wood absorbs. The grip tape might be ruined in that spot but you can cut off whats ruined and replace it or jus treplace all of it, grip tape is cheap.
