I'm bidding on a vintage portable GE Hair Dryer on Ebay.
The cord does not have "polarized prongs".
Would I still be able to use it in a standard home outlet?
How?
If yes, WHY?
If no, WHY?
Electricity Question----10 points for best answer!?
Yes. Polarized plugs are the ones where one prong is bigger than the other. Non-polarized plugs will still work in polarized sockets.
Electricity Question----10 points for best answer!?
Yes, because polarized prongs is when one prong is longer than the other, standard home outlets i believe are polarized outlets, but polarized outlets can still be used for nonpolarized plug-ins.

Yes you can still use it in a standard outlet because the new outlets only have an equipment ground. You can plug any 2 prong plug in a three prong outlet. The same as when you plug in a table lamp. It only has 2 prongs !!!!!
