my phone was fully submerged for less than 5 seconds. i immediatly removed the battery and used a hair dryer on my phone. It will not turn on.

Let it dry for a little longer, maybe over night just to be sure. And if it still does not work I would take it to your cell phone company. And see what they have to say.

try to dunk it in alcohol, i know more liquid sounds worse but alcohol (rubbing) will evaporate the water. Separate the battery if you can from the rest of the phone and make sue there is no water in that, if there is you will have to replace it, but it's cheaper than replacing the whole phone

Leave it in a dry, warm, ventilated place for 24 hours. If it doesn't work then..hope you have insurance on it.

Leave the battery out, you probably did more damage by putting it back in too early. Take the phone apart as much as you can and set it at an angle on a table or window sil, somewhere warm and open, where it can fully dry. Allow several days for it to dry COMPLETELY, you want to be 100% sure that it is dry, and then try turning it on again.

Take it apart - body - battery and place on a hard surface - no towels or napkins under it - and then place under a lamp for approximately 3 hours and then flip all items spread apart under the hot lamp for an additional 3 hrs - it needs to be completely dry (from within as well) that is why it needs to be left untouched for approx 3 hours on each side - at the end of the six hours put the phone together and it should work just fine. well i did the same thing and after 2 days i turned it back on (after letting it dry) and it was a little weird and some of the keys didnt work right but after the 3rd day everything was fine.

Take your phone entirely apart as much as you can. SIM, battery, covers, whatnot.

Leave it apart for 3 days.

Put it back together and turn it on.

I know 3 days seems like a long time without a phone but it works. Dropped mine in the toilet too. :)

Well, I am sorry to hear that...but you may be lucky. If you are a valued Verizon Customer meaning you pay your bill on time and have been a customer previously...they may be nice to you and give you an early upgrade. Call...be very respectful to the representative. Then...if they say no...ask her what your options are to get a new phone without having to pay full retail price. You are lucky to have one of the best wireless companies in the world. They will try their best to fix your issue...then if all else fails they may allow you to terminate your contract WITHOUT penalty. We are usually pretty nice and like to help our customers. As far as fixing your current phone...i don't know...that would be hard...the rules of thumb are:

1) remove the battery

2) then blow dry it for 30 seconds

3. then let it continue to dry for 7 days.

4. Try and turn it on

***I hope the phone has literally not come on since it has fell in the water...because if it has turned on with water inside...it could ruin your phone more!!!
