My dog is an 8 yr old Springer %26amp; Brittany Spaniel Mix--was in perfect health till last night; he got wet by the lawn sprinklers and my son dried him with towels and a hair dryer---ever since then he has started shivering; wont eat/drink and wants to hide under beds/desks. He wont greet us when we return home or bark when the door bell rings like he used to. I examined him for any external bodily injuries and everything seems normal. We get rabbits in the back yard and they are always chased by Fluffy--not anymore!
Would like feedback from all experts out there!
My dog is continuosly shivering from yesterday and wants to hide under beds/desks. I seek advice for normalcy.
It sounds to me that something has spooked the dog. Let him come out on his own and when he acts simi normal give him a treat. Do not talk baby talk to him when hes hiding. By doing that you are condoning the behavior. Let him be spooked for a couple days and ignore him when he is shivering and hiding. If it continues call your vet. Remember do not give him attention untill he comes out and attempts to act normal.

I'd take her to the vets for a check up to ensure the sprinkler didn't have any chemicals or whatever that can account for her behaviour.
Is being sprinkled a new thing? If so, she probably got a fright and you need to gently build up her confidence using tasty treats and praising her when she comes to you.

could just be nervers if you dog have never been exposed to lots of different situations, the sprinklers and the hair dyer might of just scared him really bad. besure he stays warm (even tho he is dry) and might try some rescue Remiedy

This sounds like something or someone has scared him,
It could have been the hair dryer if your son had accidently burnt the dog.
That wouldn't be good, seeing as it may associated all loud noises (the hairdryer) with being hurt.
I'm not sure, it may be something else of course' but this is my oppinion.
