What kind of adaptors and transformers do I need in Tunisia to use American appliances.?
I am an American who is living in Tunisia. The person above me gave you the correct information about voltage and what you will need. HOWEVER, from experience, I would buy new electronic devices and other things that require a plug when you are here.
I make trips back to the US 1-2 times a year. The first few times I brought back VCR/DVD combos, curling iron, kitchen appliances, etc. Of course I also brought the currency converters and plug adaptors as well, but NONE of the things lasted more than 2 months. Some broke as soon as they were plugged in, others broke a little later. I tried to have them fixed, but the repair men told me that the insides were just melted. In the DVD/VCR combos, the sensor that reads the DVDs shattered in addition to having the insides melt.
The repair men told me that currency convertors are not meant for longtime use. They are meant to be used for short term and infrequent intervals.
What kind of adaptors and transformers do I need in Tunisia to use American appliances.?
Tunisia is 230 volts, 50Hz. You'll need a voltage converter, and plug attachments for C and E plugs.
