England vs USA electric?

just get an outlet adapter.

England vs USA electric?

England is probably 220 volt 50 cycle and the us is 110 volt 60 cycle. I'd toss it. They don't cost that much.

England vs USA electric?

probably not unless you get a power converter.

Or its some super expensive fancy hair dryer with a switch on the back that says that it can be switched from 110 to 240 volts.

only a few consumer items usually have this switch... such as PC's

You'd need to buy a special plug for it.

England vs USA electric?

According to the my ref chart, the UK is on 230VAC 50 Hz. The US is on 120VAC 60 Hz. For a hair dryer the frequency wont mean a lot but you are going to need a transformer for 120VAC to 230VAC. For light duty these can usually be found packaged in the form of a wall adapter.
