Because people are so litigious, manufacturers have to put warning lables on their products so they don't get sued if anything happens during the use of their products. That's why it's their business; they are trying to protect themselves from lawsuits. And they don't have to prove anything. It's an obvious fact (except maybe to you) that if one mixes electricity with water, one will get burned. If you doubt that, go ahead and put a hair dryer in water while you are holding it.
