Is it just me or is the digital tv signal crap?

Yes, we were promised clean uninterrupted picture quality, but the reality is that every tenth vehicle (or every other motorbike) that goes by makes the picture and / or sound break up. This seems to be happening more than it used to, sometimes it happens even when there are no cars around, perhaps it's next-door's hair dryer!

Well what ever it is, it's not good enough!

This question has been answered many times on TV. The poor signal quality for digital is down to the fact that the digital transmission is currently running at less than half power throughout most of the country, as the analogue signals are switched off, the digital signal will be boosted to full power and everybody SHOULD get improved picture quality.

It was all just lies.......... we have had Sky installed and now have been told that it will cost us 鎷?0 odd to move the arial because a tree has grown a few inches, everytime it rains our picture goes! As soon as my contract ends Im going back to freeview, I live on an estate and there is no problem with the signal getting past the blocks of flats to to the bog standard aerial we used to have!!!

we have digital TV and last night the picture quality kept flickering and also making a rather loud, crackling noise. We had to turn the TV of in the end, as the noise was unbearable.

it was just lies buildings can get in the way.

we had loads a problems with our dish and after getting it cut off because they found no problems, they came and moved the dish a foot only higher and this solved everything.

yes it sounds daft the dish was already high up on the wall but they raised it a foot higher and everything worked.

i do not know why it just did.

tell them your going to cancel the direct debit if you get no joy and refuse to pay for dish being moved, tell them it was their fault it was in the wrong place, they tryed to charge me 40 quid to move it, i told them to get stuffed i would sooner buy free view, THEY MOVED THE DISH FOR FREE AND SAID SORRY

You make some really good points. I can only talk about FreeView, I don't have Sky or Virgin. I've noticed that where you are located will affect which channels you can pick up.

We have a signal booster and we still can't get all the channels that my girl friend gets without one!

I suggest that we all send an email to the freeview people at their website, or set up an online petition and of course we need to notify journalists.

They are going to stop broadcasting analogue soon and sometimes we get a better signal without the stb on the same channels.

You must be in a remote area without a good signal. Contact your tv provider and ask for a refund.

I know what you mean...every time it's stormy out we always have problems with the movies/shows flickering and pausing briefly. It does get annoying.

I've found that the digital signal through an arial, ie freeview is quite bad.

My digital signal is full strength and clear as a bell, it depends what buildings or hospitals/airports are in your area...

your aerial cant be 100% set or you would have no trouble...

better get it sorted, before the analogue signal goes off....
