after putting a scrunching gel in, how much will the diffuser work to make waves?

is it a significant difference over a normal hair dryer?

How much does a diffuser help?

I can say that a diffuser definitely helps keep the curls in place better than a dryer alone however, my favorite way to keep my curls lush is to add frizz ease %26amp; mousse to my hair and then putting in a braid. If I don't have time to sleep on the braid, then I blow dry the braid until it's almost completely dry. I usually do this without the diffuser.
