You can't usually take flowers or plants abroad because they can carry diseases etc.

With regards to Orange, you need to activate roaming before you travel - contact customer services. Depending on your plan, there could be a small charge.

You can take your straighteners and hair dryer in your hand luggage or your suitcase - that's up to you. Different airlines all say different things, but never seem to enforce anything apart from the liquids rules.

I would take wrapping paper etc with you, rather than wrap the present - just in case they do want to open it, but also because the parcel could end up looking quite battered after being lugged to Germany.

Hi. Everyone has a different opinion on what you can or cannot take on a plane these days. I recommend you get in touch with the airline. otherwise you are going to get lots of different opinions and you won't know for sure. All I do know is from recent experience, they are not as strict as they may seem.
