Okay, before I curl my hair I straighten it with a hair dryer so it's easier to work with. I use a 1 inch curling iron and curl the bottoms of my hair, but within 15 min. the curls fall out (they go away) Is there anything I could use or do to help them stay in longer or prevent it altogether? 10 pts. best answer! thanks!

Hey girl! Well, when your hair is still wet put a little bit of gel in it, about quarter size. Dry, then when you curl your hair..(this is kind of hard to explain) Start curling about one inch from the root and curl. Hold for two seconds then hold the handle down and go down an inch and repeat until you are at the end of the hair. Spray repeat to entire head. Also, clip half of your hair up and work from the bottom up and let little by little of hair until your done. This typically takes longer, but your curls turn out amazing compared to regular curls and last all day...

I use really strong holding hairspray since gel and stuff doesn't work for me.... and like leave in conditioner helps...

Put dippidy doo on it before curling.

curl them for longer, try some hair spray

and maybe wash your hair with curling shampoo, you could try not straightening and see what happens (maybe on a weekend where no one will see you if it looks crappy)

Right before you put the curler in that certain section of hair, spray it with hairspray, and if you do it right, you should her it sizzle....i have hair like yours (it just doesn't stay...), but i recently discovered that technique and it works well.

dont straighten your hair before!

if your hair doesnt hold curls spray hairspray on your hair while its still in the curling iron

u just have to wash ur curling iron after

Hairspray, mousse...

You could curl the bottom layers first so if they fall out the top layers will cover it up.

Or use foam rollers and sleep on them.. they keep the curl in longer for me.

first of all, put a gel or mousse in your hair before you dry it, then do not straighten it. when you straighten it, you are taking the little curl your hair has out, and then it doesnt want to curl again. So just stick with the curling, then lightly spray with hairspray
