Creating romantic curls/waves using product and a hairdryer?

Hey everyone. I have hair that's on my shoulders, a mousy brown with both natural and unnatural streaks through it. It has a slight wave in it (naturally) and occasionally I'd like to make my hair romantic curly or wavy all over. I've heard I could style my hair in this way using product and a hair dryer? Please tell me how I should do it and what product would be the best to use (cheap stuff please such as Sunsilk or Garnier Fructis; I can't afford salon at the moment).

you really don't need a product. if your hair is already wavy, then after getting your hair wet (damp, not soaked!!!!!) use a round brush and brush your hair in circular motions, holding it in curls at the bottom of your hair. Have a friend hold a blow dryer to your hair on the brush. if you do it right, you should have loose pretty curls. to keep your hair from straightening, apply a little hairspray!
