How to shrink a cotton hoody?

I bought a really nice Ralph Lauren hoody off the net size m but if feels more like a large. How can I shrink it:

Would leaving it in boiling hot water for 1 hour and then drying naturally or drying with a hair dryer or straightening iron as I don't have a tumble dryer work?

Wash in hot water followed by a cold rinse should do the job.

Note: Color may run if dye is not colorfast. You can add salt %26amp; or vinegar to set dye for new garments.

Good luck!!

First, set the color. Add a cup of white vinegar in a bucket of cold water, put the item in there and let it sit overnight. Then wash it in warm/cold water. If that doesnt take it down enough, wash it again in hot/cold. PS...I am assuming this is pure cotton hoodie. If it is synthetic, it wont shrink. I hope this helps you.
